We have cultivated a reputation for taking wine rather seriously at QCH. This was not really down to any ingenuity on our part! Rather, on opening we simply packed our list with lots and lots of high-end wines and put them on at reasonable prices, while the press made a big play of the fact that one of our owners was the son of one of the world’s most famous wine writers. For the record, she still doesn’t write the wine list.
However, we’d like to think the enduring success of our list has been due to a few other things. This is the story of how our list started, how it grew and changed and evolved into a wine shop and wine bar next door. It’s not our ‘philosophy’ on wine but hopefully might act as a guide in choosing a bottle, or even starting a little cellar of your own.
