  • About

The borough of Lambeth has a sizeable Portuguese population so it is fitting that Brixton Village has its own Portuguese restaurant in the form of Brixton Village Grill. Run by Cidalia Rodrigues and Michael Lythgoe, it combines traditional Portuguese cuisine with influences from former colony Mozambique and is one of the Village’s most popular spots.

Unsurprisingly the restaurant centres round its grill, which sears flavour into dishes such as fresh fish (supplied from fellow traders Ilias’ Fish), pork ribs, lamb chops and the famed piri-piri chicken. Everything is prepared in their tiny bustling kitchen and the simple but excellent home-cooked food has attracted a loyal following since it opened in April 2011.
