Andrew Barnes

Mr ‘Do-It’

Appears in
Rhubarb and Black Pudding

By Paul Heathcote and Matthew Fort

Published 1998

  • About
Thirty women and one man are crammed into the kitchen. They are smartly dressed, immaculately coiffured, a hairdresser’s palette of tints and highlights. These women are ladies. They give the impression of being comfortable with themselves, respectable and respectful. They are paying very close attention to Andrew Barnes.

Nominally, it is the Paul Heathcote Show, a cookery demonstration. In truth, however, it’s the Paul and Andy Show; Andrew Barnes does the work and gives the explanations, while Paul cracks the jokes and massages the audience.
