  • About
Mrs Kirkham makes champion cheeses. That’s champion in a Lancastrian sense and champion in a competitive sense. In 1995, Mrs Kirkham’s Lancashire took the Champion Cheese Award at the Tesco Cheese Awards in London. That wasn’t even a special cheese she had entered herself. In fact, Mrs Kirkham didn’t enter any of her cheeses. She never does.
‘I daren’t advertise myself any more. It worries me. I get more people ringing me up asking for cheeses, and I hate saying no.’ Mrs Kirkham has a lovely light, musical, laughing voice, with a rich Goosnargh roll to it.
