MASTIC IS THE RESINOUS GUM THAT COMES FROM THE SCORED BARK OF A MASTIC TREE. THE NAME MASTIC DERIVES FROM THE GREEK WORD ‘MASTICHON’, WHICH MEANS TO CHEW. IT IS USED IN BREADS AND CAKES OR CAN BE CHEWED ON ITS OWN. IT ALSO KEEPS US YOUNG, AND IS OFTEN CALLED ‘THE GREEK SPICE’.
