Shannon Bennett Melbourne

After training under Roger Lienhard at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne, Shannon moved to Europe and worked with such greats as Albert Roux, John Burton-Race, Marco Pierre White and Alain Ducasse. Returning to Melbourne in 2000, Shannon opened Vue de Monde in a humble terrace building in Carlton. It quickly established a cult following and Shannon was named Australian Gourmet Traveller’s Best New Talent for 2003. Shannon was the first Australian member of the exclusive Jeunes Restaurateurs D’Europe and Le Grand Tables du Monde and participated in the 2007 Star Chefs Congress 2007 in New York. His flagship restaurant Vue de Monde is now on the 55 floor of the Rialto Tower on Collins Street. Shannon has authored seven cookbooks.
