South India

The states of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala make up the region of south India. Foreign traders and explorers have often landed on these shores over the centuries, attracted by the promise of a lucrative trade in exotic and costly items such as spices and silks. They inevitably brought outside influences with them, which have had an impact on all aspects of life in the area, including food.
