  • About
Angels on earth are not on the walls of churches.
It was 2004 when the tsunami, the world’s greatest natural disaster known in the modern age, swept into and destroyed parts of Asia, Africa, India and Sri Lanka.
As a chef, family man and fellow human being, my human instinct is to help others on the ground through food. I had to do something. I wanted to react and do something physically, not by sending money. I felt that I could use my skills and common sense to make a difference.
So, I travelled the day after the tsunami hit the coast to set up a relief camp in Sri Lanka. The camp not only supported the vulnerable shell-shocked victims of horrific displacement with compassion and empathy, but also fed hundreds of victims and volunteers with practical, nutritious food. That was also a comfort in their hours, days, and weeks of darkness in some small meaningful way.
