  • About
When the weather grows colder, the leaves turn shades of gold, brown, and red. Jackets, sweaters, hats, gloves, and boots begin to appear, and the aisles of the grocery store are stocked with an abundance of squash and pumpkins, along with apples, pears, and other seasonal produce. I have been extremely privileged to enjoy fall in two countries that experience it beautifully, Poland and the Netherlands.
It is my favorite time of year and always has been. For one, I have a particular affinity for boots and sweaters over other items of clothing, and I love having an excuse to go for a hot chocolate or a cappuccino at the café around the corner with friends. And of course, there’s the baking. Fall provides a welcome excuse to turn on the oven: baking brings warmth and comfort, characteristics that are needed as the days grow shorter and colder.
