Erik Murnighan is President of The International Culinary Center in NYC. He was born in Champaign, Illinois and graduated from the University of Vermont with B.A. in Political Science. He also graduated with distinction from the ICC’s (then The French Culinary Institute) Professional Culinary Arts program. Erik’s background includes management positions in the technology field, Food & Beverage Director at the Inn of the Governor’s in Santa Fe and as Chef de Cuisine at Vermont’s Mist Grill (Hen of the Wood).
Passionate about both food and education, Erik is a craft beer enthusiast and veteran brewer, bottles red-wine vinegar and super-hot sauce made in his own kitchen. He shares his insights about both his passions as a columnist for Rodale’s Organic Life and his blog, Words on Education.
