In 2009 Sarah & Nathan Thompson and young family set out on a new venture to create a luxurious collection of distinctive spirits that are handcrafted in small batches in the oldest winery/distillery in Sussex, using local and foraged ingredients. Winners of over 12 international spirits awards, Blackdown continues to grow, now exporting to Norway, Sweden, Belgium and Spain. Passionate about mentoring startups and supporting local businesses within the drinks industry, to date has successfully helped launch 10 new artisan drinks brands to the ever expanding craft drinks scene during the past 2 years. Naturally her other passion is food and drink and is currently working on a cocktail/recipe book and diary based on her travels and influences as a Distiller and Botanical Wine Maker.
