The name “monkey bread” is believed to have derived from the casual way in which the balls of dough are piled into the pan before baking. Because each ball of dough is dunked into a butter sugar mixture before placing it in the pan, I have always thought of it as monkey dunkey bread. And because I love the combination of the soft and buttery brioche dough with slightly melted dark chocolate, I came up with the idea of stuffing each ball with chocolate. This is the most marvelous combination
