This is one good thing you can do with windfall apples. For a more substantial dish, serve with a slab of cheese – Caerphilly or any of the milder Cheddar types.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg apples, peeled, cored and sliced
  • 1 tsp ground ginger

Method

Cook the apples with 2 tablespoons water in a lidded pan till they collapse to a soft mush. Stir in the ginger and set aside to cool.
