  • 2 teaspoons oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon


  1. Heat the oil in a small saucepan and cook the onion over low heat for 3 minutes, or until soft, stirring now and then.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve warm or at room temperature. Barbecue sauce can be kept, covered and refrigerated, for up to 1 week.
