Tomato sauce and sausage get together in this hot supper sandwich special

Ingredients

  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 chopped onion
  • Parsley
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • ½ lb. bulk pork sausage or hamburger
  • 6 hamburger buns
  • 6 slices process cheese

Method

  • Combine tomato sauce, onion, parsley, salt, pepper and paprika. Cook until thick, about 10 minutes.
  • Brown sausage; break into small pieces with a fork.
  • Spoon a tablespoonful of warm tomato sauce into each bun, then a spoonful of meat; top with a slice of cheese. Brown open buns in hot oven (400°) 8 to 10 minutes.
