Rather than reach for a pack of highly-salted and processed crisps, choose protein-packed nuts that are flavoured with aromatic spices for a tasty and quick-to-make snack.


  • 1 tbsp/15 ml olive oil
  • 50 g/2


  1. Heat the oil in a frying pan, add the nuts and fry over a medium heat for 1–2 minutes, stirring until lightly toasted. Add the spices, crushed chilli if using, and salt, and fry, stirring for 1 minute until the nuts are well coated in the spice mix and just beginning to darken.
  2. Leave to cool then eat while still warm or cool completely then pack into individual
