Ingredients

  • 108-oz. can (#8 size) unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 cups cider
  • 1

Method

  1. Combine applesauce and cider in slow cooker.
  2. Cover. Cook on High 3–4 hours.
  3. Add spices.
  4. Cover. Cook 1 hour more.
  5. Sterilize cup- or pint-size jars. Heat lids.
  6. Fill jars with apple butter. Clean rim with damp paper towel. Put on lids.
  7. Place in canner and cook according to manufacturer’s instructions.
