Similar to muesli, granola is easy to make and keeps for a month. The trick is getting it to bake to a crisp texture without creating any bitter flavours, which is what happens if you overdo it. Texture and colour are not good checks for readiness because the mixture will feel soft until it completely cools. Our teacup test will help you to judge it accurately.
