  • About

In our home we love all things mango: mango ice cream, sorbet, smoothies, margaritas, paletas, salsas, you name it, we’ve made it. Here is a cheerful salsa made with two of our favorite tropical fruits, mangos and avocados. Spoon it over pan-fried tilapia or just set it out as a side dish and watch it disappear.

  • 1 large ripe mango, peeled, pitted, and chopped
  • 1 small red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 avocado, pitted, peeled, and chopped
  • 2 roma tomatoes, peeled, seeded, and chopped
  • 3 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 serrano pepper, finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • Salt to taste

Combine the chopped mango, red onion, avocado, tomatoes, cilantro, and serrano pepper in a bowl. Add the lime juice and olive oil and toss gently. Add salt to taste. Set aside and let all the flavors come together at room temperature.
