  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 pound beef round, ground
  • ½ green pepper, finely chopped
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • Unbaked Pie Pastry, 1-crust
  • 4 slices of bacon


  1. Preheat oven to hot (400°F.).

  2. Sauté the onion and garlic in the butter until translucent but not browned. Add the meat and brown lightly.

  3. Add the green pepper, salt, black pepper, tomato sauce and parsley. Pour into a nine-inch pie plate lined with the pastry.

  4. Arrange the bacon slices over the mixture like the spokes of a wheel. Bake for twenty to twenty-five minutes.
