  • 2 lbs dessert apples (Golden Delicious are best)
  • ½ small teaspoon powdered cinnamon

Method

Preheat oven to Reg 5½/390°. Peel and slice the apples, and put them in a pan with the cinnamon, sugar and vinegar. Simmer covered, stirring occasionally, for half an hour; allow to cool. Line a seven-inch flan tin with a moveable base with two-thirds of the pastry. Fill with the apple
