Chinese Mushrooms


  • ½ pound mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons peanut oil or lard
  • ½ tablespoon salt
  • ¼ pint water
  • 1 teaspoon cornflour


Heat oil or lard in a wok or frying pan; add mushrooms and salt, and stir over medium heat for 1 minute. Add water; cover pan and simmer for 3 minutes. Remove cover; add cornflour and simmer until thickened. Serve immediately.
