  • About

A mixture of wild and white rice cooked with raisins makes an unusual and hearty morning cereal. The currants may make it sweet enough, but if not, add a sprinkling of brown sugar and pour milk or cream over all.

Ingredients

  • cup wild rice
  • cup short-grain white rice
  • 2 tablespoons

Method

Rinse both rices well and put them in a saucepan with the rest of the ingredients. Bring to a boil, then cover partially and simmer until the wild rice is tender, about 40 minutes.

This will make a fairly dry rice, one without much extra liquid. If you prefer it to be wetter, just add more water or even milk while it’s cooking.
