A simple summer treat which features two fruits that harmonise beautifully.



  1. Juice and zest orange.
  2. Bring sugar syrup, spices and orange zest to a boil in a saucepan, then reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Add orange juice and liqueur and simmer for a further 10 minutes.
  3. Allow syrup to cool completely to allow flavour of spices to infuse — overnight, if you have the time.
  4. Strain syrup through a fine-meshed sieve
