  • About
To a farmer, an apple tree covered with blossoms is a lovely sight. He may watch the birds shake a shower of the petals to the earth and rejoice in trees glistening after an early morning rain. But you can bet he also has thoughts of a juicy wedge of apple pie. We predict that any of the apple pie recipes in this Cookbook will bring you his compliments. Try them all to find his very favorite!

For who can decide which apple pie is best? Members of Farm Journal’s Family Test Group voted the traditional Old-Fashioned Apple Pie their families’ first love, but there were bountiful praises of others. Open-Face Apple Pie won the second most votes, and nutmeg fans were excited and enthusiastic about Country Apple Pie. Then there’s Apple-Pecan Pie . . . but why attempt to select the champions from the many pies we share with you? They all deserve blue ribbons!
