I awake to the humming of the ceiling fan working overtime and the sound of children laughing. The sun has only just risen but the children of Point Pedro have been awake for hours.

I have come to Point Pedro to visit Anjali Aham, a counselling centre, school and youth drop-in centre, run by a local Tamil Catholic priest. I make my way downstairs and find children dancing, singing and playing games. When Father Damian walks in they all rush over to him, asking the same question: ‘Hello Father, what do we have today?’
