Le Cordon Bleu Matching Wine with Food

  • About
The design of your cellar needs to take into account how you want to store your wine. If you buy fine wine, there is some value in keeping it unopened in its original wooden case - particularly if you intend to sell the wine. Don’t be tempted to stack boxes on the floor where they might be affected by cold, damp or vibration. Instead, build or buy a suitable shelving system, remembering to take weight into account - a case of 12 bottles weighs at least 16 kg (36 lb).
For a large collection, use specialist racks, bottle bins and hives that can take up to 24 bottles each and can be added to as you accumulate more wine. Go for open units that allow the circulation of air in the cellar, which helps to maintain a stable temperature.
