  • About
When asked what is my favourite fruit, I usually say peach. But come to think of it, I ought to say tomato because that is what it is - a fruit. And here I would quickly like to point out something else I find intriguing. Being a member of the Nightshade family, the tomato is a close cousin of the potato, chile and aubergine, as their pretty flowers, will show you.
A good hothouse tomato has to have one of the greatest smells on earth. I would love to be able to describe it, but I cannot. As for their feel, well, a ripe tomato is a sexy thing just dying to be squeezed, and when the fingers go in, the fruit squidges out and juice runs down your arm ... enough!
