  • About

This lovely Megrelian restaurant is on the main road (No. 1) between Kutaisi and Zugdidi at Nosiri, southeast of the large town of Senaki, which has an Ethnographical Museum and some monuments, and is within easy reach too of the ruins at Nokalakevi.

The restaurant seems like an oasis along the bland but busy commercial road: you enter through a large stone gate into a shady garden with bungalow huts around it, each with a dining table inside. Many Georgian families prefer to eat separately from one another so they can toast in privacy. Meals in restaurants like these can go on for several hours if the group of family and friends is numerous, so each table can go at its own pace.
