Always an inspiration during the time of my first ever restaurant in the Isle of Man.
Lannice was one of the first people to contact me on my first ever visit to South Africa, and gave me her beautiful book. Lannice became a friend and who passed away several years ago, so the book has fond memories of both the lady and the country.
The first ever TV show and cookbook that actually showed an honest reality of a real working kitchen , the stress (and as the title suggests), the heat ! . As a young chef, this was a revelation and delight if not shocking to the rest of the population at the time!
A quick and easy book format that delves into a few historic and traditional simple recipes from Mediaeval cookery to Victorian era`s.
The book is slightly dated now, but holds fond memories of filming a TV series in the USA , and visiting , cooking and learning about Native American Indian cooking, foods and alternative remadies.
Once again happy memories of my time spend in the Med, my love of it`s cuisine and a book that is full of stunning images and traditional recipes.
