He has climbed in New Zealand, on the rock faces of Yosemite National Park and across the mountains of Europe. A former Camelot jouster and National Standard swimmer, he has finally settled down to become a spice entrepreneur and family man with the occasional sideline of professional stuntman in the movies! Matt is now the Director of Seasoned Pioneers, an artisan spice company based in the north west of England on the Wirral peninsula. Offering a repertoire of over 300 spices, seasonings and hand-made spice blends in the UK, Matt’s worldwide travels and knowledge have continually helped him to source the very finest products available. This has been repeatedly recognised by respected chefs and food writers who advocate the diverse range, superior quality and inspiration of his ingredients. An avid cook, Matt has accumulated an astonishing collection of cookery books from every corner of the world. Unsurprisingly all his culinary endeavours involve the use of herbs, spices and seasonings yet he admits that his stalwart cookery tomes contain traditional recipes that he can embellish with spice.
