The good old American classic slapped into an English casing to give your tastebuds the best of both worlds.
Get a frying pan on a medium-hight heat. Chuck in both types of onion and the pepper, cook until soft, then put in a bowl to one side.
In the same pan, cook the steak until browned but not quite done, season with salt and pepper, then stir in the onion and pepper mix. Tip the whole lot back into the bowl and leave to rest.
