Pastry for 2-Crust Pie
4 c. peeled and diced tart apples
½ c. dates

Method

Combine apples, dates, cherries and nuts; put into pastry-lined 9" pie pan.
Combine sugar, flour and salt. Add cream, mix well. Add lemon juice. Pour cream mixture over fruit. Top with lattice design of strips made from remaining pastry.
Place pie in large paper bag. Close and fasten bag. Bake in hot oven
