Makhluta is the Arabic word for the plaster mixed with grainy sand that is used in construction. It is also the name for the hearty meal that builders partake in early in the morning, to sustain them throughout the day.

Ingredients

  • 4 garlic cloves, crushed
  • Juice of 2 lemons
  • 2 teaspoons salt

  1. Using a mortar and pestle, mash garlic, lemon juice, and salt to a paste.
