  • 2-3 tablespoons golden syrup
  • juice of ½ lemon

Method

Mix the syrup, lemon juice, caraway seeds and breadcrumbs in the bottom of a buttered two-pint pudding basin. Cream the butter and sugar together until fluffy, add the beaten eggs and the lemon rind and then the flour with a pinch of salt. Add a little milk to bring the mixture to a dropping consistency.
