We went crazy for all the amazing seafood dishes we enjoyed throughout Thailand on our honeymoon. My favorite memory was going to an outdoor seafood market where we picked out some clams. After ringing us up, the man who ran the stall pointed us to the restaurant next door. The chef took our bag and whipped up a fantastic Clams with Roasted Chili Basil Sauce (which i’ve recreated) right before our eyes. You can’t get fresher than that!

Seafood is a large part of the Thai diet as fish and shellfish caught from the Mekong River, as well as the ocean and lakes has been an abundant and cheap source of food for Southeast Asians for centuries. Battered, stir-fried, grilled, roasted, and put in soups and salads, Thai seafood dishes are limitless, colorful, bold, and unpredictable.
