Secrets of Colombian Cooking

  • About
Colombia is bordered by both the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, which provides us with a great diversity of seafood and many ways of preparing each type. I have wonderful memories of my children playing with the live lobsters and then helping out at the table, as well as fishing with their father and friends for the foods we would later prepare.

In Colombia, fishermen say that shellfish should not be eaten in the months that do not have an “r” in their name, which are May, June, July and August, for these are the months of veda, when they reproduce.
