Cacao is queen for that theobromine high, even though it isn’t the only food that contains theobromine. Side note: Try Macambo seeds sometime! They’re in the same family as cacao beans and also high in theobromine. You eat them like nuts, and they’re one of my favorite snacks because they are crunchy and creamy.

In this chapter, we’ll melt chocolate, use both baking cocoa powder and raw cacao powder, and we will definitely avoid commercial Godiva liqueur. Good-quality cacao products are far more of a health food than they’re given credit for! From containing many B vitamins to PMS-relieving magnesium, this food is more a medicine than it is a vice, as long as you eat a health-promoting version.
