Andrew Langley is a food writer of long and varied experience. Among his formative experiences he lists a season picking grapes in Bordeaux, several years raising chickens, sheep and bees in the West Country, two decades of drinking his grandmother’s tea, and lunch long ago in George Perry Smith’s legendary Hole in the Wall. He has written books on several Scottish and Irish whisky distilleries, as well as English breweries. He is the editor of an anthology of the writings of the eccentric Victorian chef Alexis Soyer, and author of many titles in the long-running Little Book of Tips series.
