Jaspal Inder Singh Kalra, popularly known as Jiggs Kalra is regarded as the “Czar of Indian Cuisine” and “Taste maker to the Nation”, titles conferred to him by Late Khushwant Singh. He is a pioneering food columnist and author, culinary revivalist, gastronome, food consultant, anchor of two popular television programmes and restaurateur. In a career spanning over four decades, he has been instrumental in reviving some of the lost recipes / dishes while introducing Indian cuisine to international audiences as well as setting standards of the same. Among his vast repertoire of work, he is also the first Asian to be inducted in the prestigious International Food & Beverage Gourmet Hall of Fame and has numerous awards and accolades, both national and international, to his credit.
