Nigel Slater (born; April 9, 1958) is an English food writer and journalist. He has authored 8 cookbooks including, Real Fast Food, The 30 Minute Cook and The Kitchen Diaries. Slater is most famous for his autobiography, Toast, where he communicates how food has influenced his life and shaped his identity. His book, Tender, documents the journey of Slater’s personal garden, from cultivation through to cooking. Tender was published in two volumes, with the first book focusing on vegetables and the second focusing on fruits. Slater also had his own cooking show, Nigel Slater’s Simple Cooking, and continues to be a guest on a number of television programs.
