Mr Slater writes about the pleasures of food and cooking in a way no-one else can. He is as self-deprecating and funny as he is enthusiastic and adventurous. He is very English -- and my favourite food writer.
This is the book that I go to when I just need a nudge in the right direction when I’m family cooking at home, it’s a perfect ‘ohmygodimleavinghome’ cookbook present too!!
This is another real foodie book which I first read in galley form. I immediately wanted to rush into the kitchen to cook every recipe.
