Stas was born hungry and into an English-Cypriot family. His love of cooking started at a very young age, helping his mother and Greek grandmother in the kitchen. One of his earliest memories is of rolling dolmades and unravelling caul fat for sheftalia’s for their ever frequent family gatherings. This spurred him on in his teenage years to follow his first love and become a chef.
Stas spent 15 years in the various kitchens of the Milsom family empire as well as in Switzerland where he spent two years in the pastry section of a 5 star hotel.
He is now the Operations director for Milsom Hotels and Restaurants. One of his key responsibilities is coaching and supporting the Head Chefs in continuously developing their menus.
Stas lives in Essex with his wife and chocolate Lab and enjoys nothing more than entertaining friends and family around his French wood fired oven.
In 2012 Stas produced Recreate published by Jon Croft Editions celebrating 60 years of the company.
