When I first arrived in NYC, pizza by the slice was a godsend. At the time you could get a slice of cheese pizza for $2 from the chain 2 Bros, so living became cheap. Don’t get me wrong — there’s way better pizza to be had, and after I’d lived there a while my favourite was probably from Roberta’s in Williamsburg, but I loved that pizza slice and I still have to eat one when I visit the city.
