In my opinion, a good sauce takes food up a few levels, whether it’s from a jar, straight out of a packet or homemade. Here, I’m showing you some stupidly easy sauces to make that you’ll need for some of the recipes in this book. Don’t worry, there’s nothing challenging in any of these.

Throughout the book, you can use shop-bought alternatives if you want, but some stuff you can’t buy. So, you’re gonna have to get your spoons and bowls dirty to make them. You’ll also find that with a lot of jarred sauces, you need to add some seasoning etc. to get the taste you desire. But hey, that’s the name of the game, right?
