Killian Fox

Killian Fox is the founder-editor of thegannet.com, an online magazine that explores how people relate to food in their everyday lives. He is also a regular contributor to the Observer Food Monthly, as well as the arts section of the Observer and various other publications. Killian grew up in the north-west of Ireland at a time (the 1980s) when the country was not widely renowned for its contribution to world gastronomy. It was through travelling – a formative stint in New York, visits to India and East Africa, regular trips around Europe – that he cultivated a keen interest in food and the stories that accompany it. He has been writing for the Observer since 2005. The Gannet, which he launched in early 2015, was born of a fascination with other people’s eating habits and it satisfies his long-suppressed urge to nose around the kitchens of total strangers.
