Ingredients

Method

  • Combine molasses, water, lemon juice and salt and bring to a boil.
  • Add apples, cook until tender and remove from syrup.
  • Blend butter and flour and add to hot syrup gradually, stirring constantly. Cook until thick and smooth. Fold apples lightly into syrup. Cool slightly. Turn into pastry-lined 9" pie pan, top with pastry lattice.
