I remember the first time I tasted shiso. It was fresh but oddly familiar, like meeting somebody for the first time but feeling like you’ve known them for years. It’s essentially Japanese mint, an herbaceous, refreshing and subtle leaf. I immediately wanted to pair it with milk chocolate.
