  • About

We suppose we should extend our diet beyond cake and cocktails, but we can’t think of many good reasons why. In our humble opinion, a great after-dinner drink should satisfy like a great dessert, only with more alcohol. Of course, not every recipe in this chapter contains alcohol, and a few, like the Adult Hot Chocolate, taste just as delicious without it.

The drink recipes compiled in this chapter all have a sweet profile, as befitting a book by the owners of a bakery. Chocolate, ice cream, and fruit are interspersed with coffee, spirits, and teas to create our favorite dessert drinks or drink desserts. The more obvious dessert-style drinks, like the Vanilla Bean Affogato, the Chocolate Stout Milkshake, and the Baked Brown Cow, can be served in place of a typical dessert, while the lighter drinks can be served “cocktail style” at the beginning of or during a meal.
