I took a two-year study break and ventured off to the UK to see if I actually wanted to make a career of my love for food and cooking. The plan was to work in a few restaurants and see if I was cut out to be a chef. I was fortunate enough to find a job in an upscale brasserie in Knutsford, Cheshire, and was hired first as a vegetable chef and later as the pastry chef. This chapter is a collection of recipes that I either made at the restaurant or frequently enjoyed when eating out during my time off.
